Let's bring creativity & connectivity to kids.

How does this site work?

DonorsChoose accepts proposals from public school teachers for items they need for their classrooms. It's not hard to notice the trend in the requests for Apple products, and it comes as no surprise either: teachers see the brand of devices as portals to creative stimulation and a wealth of information that their students, in many cases, otherwise have no access to.

WalkScore® provides the "walkability" data of a given latitude/longitude coordinate. The number takes into account the area's access to a public transportation system and proximity of local businesses.

Infochimps is a resource for tons of data, including census reports. This is where the household income figures are drawn from, also by passing in a latitude and longitude.
